August 3, 2021 at 6:09 pm My oil filter covers on the transmission do not sit flush with the transmission. One of the covers is leaking oil. (no leak at idle, then after shutdown the fluid seeps out). I also noticed in reservoir that there is a gasket at the base of the fitting over which the filter fits. June 10, 2022 at 9:53 am Thanks in advance for any help given. I have a 2004 Sea Ray 500 with QSM 11’s. I’ve always maintained the fluids myself and had no issues. I was short on time so I had a marina fully service the boat in the fall of 2020. I took off, drove approximately 6 hours then put her up for the winter. In the spring of 2021, I checked all fluids. Both mains were on the low level mark of the dipstick. The port transmission showed a small dab on …

March 9, 2022 at 2:36 pm Hello! After rebuilding a 6bta5.9 330 I noticed that the ZF220A gear is making a knocking noise when in forward or reverse at idle speed but it dissipates when the engine a little over idle speed (about 900/1000 rpm). No noise in neutral at any RPM. The noise seems to come from the forward side of the gear, almost from the bellhousing.

Use RectorSeal 5 on the threads andĀ  entire cap screw and reinstall– UseĀ  Common sense as to torque.. Two of the screws are longer as they hole the pump to the gear.
