Balmar extra alternator – 4bt

New installation of additional alternator onto 4BT for charging house battery bank.

4 BT (155hp version) – 12v electrical system

Balmar 94 series (24v /  130amp)

Balmar MC-624 regulator

The regulator requires either 12v or 24v Ignition input / switched power source.

Any tips on where would be the best connection source?

I am away from the vessel and trying to get it connected and wired by a layman prior to the sparky doing final check and start-up.

Fuel shuoff solenoid

Looks like the fuel shut0of solenoid has a purple or red wire to activate it when igntion on.

Plan to use that to provide ignition power to regulator.
