This pic was taken w/ about 50 gallons of fuel on board.. Because the fuel tanks were repositioned to mid-ship, the trim of the boat does not change when empty or full.. Stock Farallons are a little "bow heavy" when light on fuel. Original boot stripe shows her lines well.

This project was a total re-construction of the boat from the cabin aft..For guys who are familiar w/ this boat, the aluminum fuel tanks were removed and new higher capacity integral tanks were installed (starting about 1 ft ahead of the transom), and the decks were raised about 4" with 2" of crown added.. All construction was done w/ 5 lb Divinycell foam and isophalic tooling resin.......

These photos of the V-drive show how all of the initial, but accurate alignment and mounting of this critical component can take place BEFORE the engine is installed.. Much easier to do it w/o the engine in the way. Machined bushings for the shaft and V-drive allow for very accurate placement and mounting.

The owner looked at all the options available and chose to go with a Cummins 370 Diamond with a ZF 220 VLD V-drive w/ a trolling valve. This combo has proven to be an exceptional package for many boats in this size range as it offers more than enough power and is very economical, quiet and smooth. The “High Mount” turbo option lends itself well to V-Drive installs as the exhaust it now pointed aft and makes for an easy exhaust run.

Set in place was a snap as all the mounts were made BEFORE the engine was installed. For those familiar with a "STOCK" Farallon, the extra space afforded by integral tanks and a raised deck is evident and much appreciated from the maintenance stand point.

A close up of the Hi-mount w/ the exhaust.. Straight back and down under the deck, and then aft to the transom outlet. Simple, safe and does not use up valuable space by having to make risers, cross-overs, etc.

Raised fuel fill covers with below deck fuel fills add a layer of security to water entry.

After most of the work was done, we put a "commercial" grade of non-skid on the new decks. We opted for aluminum hatches that are strong, light, and are "zero" maintenance.
