      March 9, 2024 at 9:51 am My long term Rattle Can Experience.   1–Heating the can in hot water to 100-140F makes for a superior spray experience– 2– you cannot over shake 3–keep some real lacquer thinner in a baby food jar–Soak your spray tips in it and then blow them backwards to clean them using an air nozzle   Hope this helps the frustration level some

      November 16, 2022 at 9:07 am that is somewhat normal on the qsc.Ā  I have them as well.Ā  just need to make sure you are properly loaded and within the fuel curve.Ā  read up about it on this site. they are great engines and super easy to self maintain.

      May 23, 2020 at 8:23 am I was just reading a comment Tony made about being able to flush the engine when off with the right exhaust. My exhaust is thru the bottom of the hull. So water is introduced in a shower ring just before it exits the boat. So water running simply falls out. Its so simple to do, I flush these engines every time I start a motor. I can do this because (as you can see in the pictures I posted) my exhaust is discharged directly through the bottom of the hull (NO Exhaust lift)(not common) As for yours, its not the exhaust leaving the engine you have to evaluate, it how it gets out of the boat…

      March 9, 2021 at 4:18 pm Took end caps off to clean out and forward end of heat exchanger started to drip coolant, not from core, but on bottom bettween core and housing. Does this indicate nothing or an internal leak? I notice a slight loss of coolant in same engine only about a pint after 20 hours or so. I assume next step might be to warm up engine take a zinc out pressure test and see if coolant comes out of zinc hole? Thanks

      March 4, 2021 at 2:37 pm Heat exchangers rarely fail to the point of needing replacement however they do need service. Itā€™s really a time and parts service item. It takes some time to do it right but removing it from the engine and disassembling it, cleaning, pressure testing, assembling with new o-rings and grease should take care of it. I wouldnā€™t add things to the coolant unless your looking for a very short term fix and then being faced with the same or worse probl…

The shifter located on the bottom right next to the salon door, the two buttons on the left side are not working, looks like something like acid made contact with them.       February 1, 2021 at 4:40 pm Core only slides out aft. Aluminum retainer ring slides off forward end. Cummins part number for end caps has been superseded for a new design. Using these bronze caps seems to be the best option. Five years old and 600 hours, It really needed this service…..lots of corrosion starting. I will hack saw the old cap to retrieve the bolt.
