    • Smx gauge ?s for 6cta

This topic has 3 replies, has 2 voices, and was last updated byTony Athens 2 years ago

February 25, 2022 at 2:46 am I have a new to me 32ā€™ Stuart angler with a 450hp 6cta and a zf280 1.5/1 gear and it has a new smx digital gauge panel on it and i had a few questions on the readings of this. What Iā€™m wanting to know is what would the normal cruising range be for egt and boost? Both of my readings seem relatively low. Also the gear pressure stops at 400psi, Iā€™ve been told that gear creates more than 400? If so could this gauge be programmed to accommodate that?Ā

April 29, 2017 at 5:55 am I just wanted to greet everyone. I just bought my first Diesel. An Albin 28 2005 model flush deck powered with a 315 yanmar. I wish I could have gotten a cummins B series, but that just isn’t available in the flush deck design I wanted. That said, I will be reading and researching as much as possible to keep this engine working well for as long as possible. It is the original engine, and had about 900 hours on it. It was in fresh water mos…

I am a novice, and learning, so critical comments are welcome. I removed the exhaust elbows off the engine and inspected the turbo. It looked similar to my previous inspection in late 2017, with some rust present, but the flan blades and such still looked in good shape. Of more concern was the unevenness where the elbow bolts onto. I did …

February 22, 2022 at 9:52 am I’m looking for the Max flow rate on the FS1218 filter. I’m wondering if its a good choice to use as a stand alone tank filter system I am designing. Explanation: I’m in the middle of installing SBM Double Double filter system on my Diamond 450 engines. While draining the Racors I discovered they were full of crud. My boat is 22 years old, tanks are 850 Gal total and have never been opened. I hired a tank cleaner and we removed…

February 23, 2022 at 5:30 pm I now use a Maxwell 1800 cca capacitor to spin the starter motor on my qsb 6.7, even the Cummins tech who did the commissioning likes the setup. The 200amp alternator is connected to 400 amp hour lithium batteries. The Maxwell is about 14 lbs the lithium weight is less then half of what lead acid batteries with 4 times the useable capacity.

January 1, 2022 at 6:35 pm I just read another article stressing the importance of engine oil temperature for reducing coking in the engine. I gather oil temperature should be well above that for water temperature. I have a 6BTA 370 but there is no oil temperature gauge. I thought it would be good to add one, but was surprised I could not find anything on the Seaboard Marine web site. Suggestions?
