    • Aftercooler condensation drain install?

September 21, 2023 at 10:19 pm Hello i have a 450 6cta with the older style aftercooler that has no kind of condensation drain on it, and living in the great humid state of florida it likes to build up the condensation in the aftercooler. I was thinking about adding a drain of sort and was reading around and was wondering if just drilling a small weep hole like 1/16ā€ low on the housing would work for this similar to what Tony said the older Detroits had on their set ups? September 21, 2023 at 6:18 am The standard power requirement curve says that the power (and fuel burn) needed is directly related to the RPM raised to some exponential factor. Cummins uses 2.7 for the exponential factor. I analyzed the Cat specs in your first post, and it is clear in that case the exponential factor is 3.0. So, yes, the factory specs are different. The Cat spec is a bit more restrictive at mid-range RPMs. However, that is irrelevant for either Cummins or Cat…

February 8, 2018 at 1:19 pm I have a pair of QSM 11s in a 2008, 50′ Altima trawler. I have owned the boat for 3 months and recently the starboard engine will shut down for no obvious reason. I am in south Florida with mild temps. The engine runs perfectly and suddenly turns off ( usually after operating for 30 minutes to an hour) as if I had pressed the shutdown switch and turned off the ignition. When this occurs the ignition to the starboard engine is dead i.e. no…
