      November 9, 2016 at 7:41 pm Hi Fellas, just new to the site, I have fuel filtration as per Tony’s recommendation, FS19513 – FS1000 on engine fs1280. is there a finer micron filter that is plug and play onto the existing 1280filter head spud threads ? Is it necessary to go finer micron on that last chance filter? i have had this filtration since 60 hours, 2010 with 1800hrs currently and she runs sweet as a nut, no smoke. ive always wondered if having the bulk kn…

      November 11, 2016 at 7:15 am Thanks for the reply Tony, I thought as much, but I thought I,d check. I’ll look into a cummins filter head if available to fit my engine. The way the USD is with GBP and postage makes it costly purchase from seaboard at the moment.   thanks again Paul

      November 9, 2016 at 9:22 am I am looking into Vikings in the year range of 2003-2006 and was wondering if anyone could give some advice on theĀ v10 Man engines they use. Most have hours between 1500 and 2800 hours. What I have heard is that their 1000 hour services are about $1000 per hole. I have also heard that some of the engines smoke. I am also wondering how many hours these engines can go before a major rebuild has to be done. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

      November 10, 2016 at 11:46 am Realize that I am not a MAN guy but the best advise I could give you would Ā to be sure you have “deep pockets” is you buy a boat with these engines..If you are budget minded and want a boat with engines like these or similar engines from MTU, then I’d be looking to a boat with CAT’s, Cummins, or Detroit Series 60’s in it.. All of the German high performance V-engine are crazy expensive to maintain follow the factory…
