January 29, 2017 at 3:44 pm Tony, I have new QSM11 with 70 hours that was put into service Sept 2016. Ā On a recent visual inspection I noticed a little soot near the manifold. Ā Does the attached photo tell you anything or look like a Leak? Ā Best one I could get and only place a saw some soot.

November 20, 2016 at 10:15 pm We are having starting issues with both engines, You can hear the master soleniod engage but the starter motor doesnā€™t turn. I have replaced the master soleniod and things were good for 12 months, however the problem has returned. There are 3 soleniods and Iā€™m not sure what the other two do, other than the fuel shut off. Can anyone shed some light on my problem. Thanks, Kevin

January 9, 2017 at 7:23 pm I’ve read a lot on boatdiesel.com about the need to put DCA into the coolant and monitor the levels regularly, making adjustments as needed. I was talking to one of the fellows at SBmar (not sure of a name) a month or so ago and the topic of DCA came up and he suggested plain green Prestone (ethylene glycol) was just fine for coolant in my engines. January 10, 2017 at 1:18 pm Here’s a pic I just ran across. This shows the angle of the exhaust. Still not sure if thats acceptable, 15 degree or more but looks decent. The water line is about 4-5 inches above the bottom of the fuel tank. The exhaust “shower” is about 3 inches past the clamps on the very left. Yeah, they had plenty of room to make the riser even higher. Probably 8+ inches more room above it.
