I have a 2001 Downeast style boat with a single 6bta 370. The boat has fiberglass fuel tanks. The warmest seawater temp we get here in Northern Cal is about 65 degrees. Would it be safe to remove the fuel cooling system to obtain better access to the raw water pump? How warm would the fuel going into the fuel tanks get?The boat idles for long periods sometimes while fishing. Ā Second question. Can I run the engine at idle with a garden hose hooked to the sea strainer?

Let’s keep this simple————–Remove your fuel cooler & go fishing–Give your fuel temp no other thoughts or concerns………

Yes, you can run you engine at an idle on a garden hose.. ZERO issue. Any water at all is water enough to flush..
