      September 18, 2018 at 5:01 pm Hello, Ive been trying to solve the 559 low fuel pressure alarm for some time now with no results. Right now it only activates when power is put to plane and when WOT. Boat has a pair of 5.9 QSB 355 hp 650 hrs 2007 Here a list of things done with no sucess in order: 1)Replaced racor.       November 21, 2022 at 3:36 am I had 2 x turbos have a crackĀ  in between bolt holes. Exactly the same place made me think it was a casting flaw.

      August 26, 2022 at 3:05 pm Hello,<br />We have a Duffy 37 finished by Farrin in 2010 running a Cummins QSC 8.3 540 hp. Per the engine plate max rpm is 2600 governed at 2675.Ā  This is turning a ZF transmission with a 1.962 gear ratio.<br />Fully loaded with 300 gal fuel, 200 gal water and 5 people plus gear WOT is 2520 rpm. Speed is 23.6 and GPH is 27.4. Cruising at 2100 rpm we get to 16.1 knots and burn 18.1 gph.<br />Dry weight is 22,000 lbs… full…

      October 29, 2021 at 9:33 am Kane, If you look at the Performance report that Tony attached you see that the 490 is rated at 2500 RPM with the gov kicking in somewhere in the 2565 to 2585 range to limit RPM. You can also look at the data plate that is on the engine and it will tell you the rated RPM. You reported 2570 which is spot on. Since you are seeing a load% that is below 100% at 2570 that bodes well for the life of the engine as it pertains to prop loading. Just …

      July 1, 2021 at 2:25 pm 6CTA 8.3M2 turns over strong but does not start. Upgraded the starter to the Delco Remy 39MT that has an IMS. Remote mag switch is connected to the IMS switch as per instructions to have both mag switches functioning. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      November 21, 2020 at 3:05 am Hi All, Does anyone know if it is possible to get the hours changed on a cm850 ECU? I have just put on a 2nd hand one to replace a broken one. It currently shows 9999 hours on Smartcraft .. Cummins say they cant make the hours the same as they were on the previous ecu. Google says its possible with Calterm? thanks Luke

      February 5, 2021 at 10:08 pm I found a way. Not the right way.. Data link-program. I even found a way to turn of the broken Wif sensor on the old ecm I replaced. So deep down I could have not bought a 2nd hand ecm and paid Cummins to recalibrate it. I would have been 1 k better off this way at the beginning.

      September 29, 2020 at 6:11 pm My experience has been that Cummins RECON injectors are “as new”.. As to buying rebuilt injectors from another source, no experience doing that, but that alone would not deter me from buying them from a well established aftermarket source if the $$ was a major factor.

      July 29, 2020 at 2:54 am Hi Guys, While doing some other work I noticed both my turbo housings are cracked, I am not sure if they leak yet but will do tomorrow. So both are cracked in the same place, I am not sure if it is new or came with the engines 2nd hand as I have never taken the heat shield off and had a good look. Anyone seen this before? Other than a new housing, would you drop the housing off the turbo and give it a weld ? Or just paint over it and see if…

      August 15, 2020 at 10:49 am Is it possible your exhaust is unsupported and causing too much load? The crack goes right through a bolt hole. Maybe weight plus vibration is causing it.

      January 30, 2020 at 9:35 am My starboard smart craft display when turned on for my QSB 8.3 diesel request calibration ? I followed the prompts and when complete I received a new message. So I am not there and it was working when I last saw it.. It did the same as Steve posted.       February 25, 2020 at 6:45 am I would like an opinion on this wobble of this QSC 500 vibration damper. I have removed it and can find nothing wrong with the mounting. Is there a test for these dampers? I did not notice a vibration in this engine specifically but the boat has a vibration between 1200-1900 rpms that a prop scan did not correct. I do not want to throw $400 at something that might be normal.
