    Engines: 6CTA 8.3-M2 /400@2600
    Location: Alaska

    6CTA 8.3M2 turns over strong but does not start. Upgraded the starter to the Delco Remy 39MT that has an IMS. Remote mag switch is connected to the IMS switch as per instructions to have both mag switches functioning.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I have the ask the starter is turning the right way? I had CAT supply me one for one of their engines that ran the other way,

    Look at the external fuel solenoid– It is mostly no longer working ( “wired in” thru the engine cranking /running circuit) There are plenty on diagrams showing how it is all wired on this site
