Info on cat C12.9? Good motor?

Looking for info folks have on cat c12.9’s. Doesn’t seem to be a ton of info on the internet, at least from the searching I’ve done. Even cat’s website seems to have very little info.

Sounds like it may be a re-branded Italian made engine?

Looks like its a completely different engine than the c12, and has only been out for a few years. About 500 lbs lighter and 6″ shorter than the c18, but twin turbos and displacement (less hp as well).

Application is a 30 ton twin engine sportfish with the 1000hp variant.

Particularly interested if folks have any experience/knowledge of reliability, owner maintainability, etc.

Yes it is a rebadged FPT. one side of the line IVECO FPT

They are stopping the 12L block now as well for some reason. still doing the 9.3 and the 18
