      September 7, 2023 at 10:08 am Hi folks, I’ve got a 42 ft, 36,000 lb trawler with a Cat 3208TA and a TD507 2.54:1 in her.Ā  It’s a Sunnfjord 42, they mostly build commercial boats and fishing boats but ours was built as a yacht. It’s go an 8″ wet exhaust going into a shower can style riser. Injection point is 48″ above DWL so they got that right. The Cat has 9000 hours, we plan to keep the boat long term so want to repower now rather than after it…

I’m no stranger to 6B’s, but looking for any feedback that this particular spec warrants looking at.       August 24, 2023 at 8:25 pm G’day team. Helping my neighbor here with one of his glorious old 555 naturals. I think this is just a coincidence, but this occurred right after changing all fuel filters. Symptom is; Starts and runs fine, then after a couple of minutes running, engine stall regardless of throttle opening.       May 11, 2023 at 5:46 am My EnviroVent w/S&B’s was first installed on my 330B’s 15 years ago.Ā  Always easily makes 100+ over rated rpm, engine room stays super clean and no noticeable turbo whine (but that depends on your engine room configuration). I’ve changed the filters a couple times and changed out the corrugated hose once.Ā Ā

      March 28, 2023 at 5:19 pm Well, the State says it’s time so I have to replace my excellent 6bta 370 with a tier 3 engine. What engine would be the correct replacement. I have plenty of height but not much width in the engine room. The 370 pushes the boat at 15 knots at 2400 rpm.Ā

      March 19, 2023 at 4:46 pm Hi there. I just got my aftercoolers back from SBMAR, and put them back on, I was told they were cleaned and pressure tested. I also just finished installing SBMAR CCV kit (thanks Justin). My question is Starboard engine seems to have lots of fuel coming out exhaust and making sheen on the water.       March 20, 2023 at 4:29 pm This past weekend I found out my heat exchanger was leaking from the end cap gasket.Ā  Saltwater was spraying on the engine.Ā  I took the end cap off and noticed the 2 surfaces were smooth.Ā  New gaskets on order.Ā  What is the best way to clean and protect the engine surface where the water was spraying.Ā  This is for a 6BTA 370hp engine.   Thanks Ron

      September 30, 2022 at 4:28 am The smallĀ  bleeder lines to the top of the tank need to be max ID of 3/16″ to the various spots on the engine. 1/8″ ID will work.Ā  Ā Bigger than that and the engine will /may overheat–WHY?Ā  Because all bleed water by-passes the HX.. The make-up line on the bottom on the tank = 5/8″ minimum ID,Ā  Ā 3/4″ ID preferred.Ā

Looking at some drive examples where props on some boats appear to be close to the face of the transom, I have seen that the transom has been extended in the area above the prop.
