      February 4, 2019 at 4:50 pm Hi, I bought a Fell Marine MOB+ wireless man overboard system for my Meridian w twin QSBs. The goal is to kill the motors if I go in the drink, and have an alarm go off if the Admiral or the dogs go in. The system seems to be built for outboard boats primarily……but I gotta think it can be wired in to my existing start stop switches. I bought the Fell Marine MOB+ for my actual 30ft single engine RIB for the same reason OP Robert wrote, but in my case as I boat often alone and I guess its a uncomfortable situation falling over word and see the boat leaving.       August 5, 2020 at 5:41 pm Buddy bought a boat. Tag on the motor says 6bta 330hp. But in neutral we got around 3100rpms. Spec for a 6bta 330 shows 2800. Assuming the tachs are ā€œnearā€ correct. Is there a sure fire way to tell if these motors have been upgraded?

      January 18, 2023 at 4:11 am Hi there, so been trying to research the question of if somebody was to recalibrate from 330 HP to 370 HP for what ever reason.Ā <br />Iā€™ve bought the Cummins marine CPL1975 /2208 Manuel from SBMar (thank you guys) and started to compile a list of parts and jobs to complete the conversion?? it seems like this is a common question but no one out there gives a straight answer Ā  so can the SBMar experts please come to the rescue on this?

ACs have been serviced 1x by a previous owner (there were 4). I donā€™t believe they removed the AC and bench serviced. Iā€™ve only done my stbd AC at the moment. Slight green corrosion on both caps.       April 26, 2021 at 11:57 am Roky, you could always give distilled white vinegar a try too. My last aftercooler service interval was rather short so tubes weren’t bad and the vinegar cleaned them up nice.

Freshwater flush installed and used religiously (installed Spring 2020, after the sbmar seawater protocol which I did Summer 2019) I was changing out pencil zincs and both the HX zincs broke off, and thereā€™s some clogging of the HX tubes at the bottom, with the built up zinc material.       April 2, 2020 at 4:27 pm Starting my fwf finally after talking about it for too long. My system is ok for an engine off system and will tap into the OUT port on my seawater pump. Manifold is all Home Depot stuff and will be installed in my transom locker with a quick disconnect for the dockside garden hose.       January 1, 2020 at 10:49 am I found this on Facebook and it looks like a nice clean solution to flushing my mains, gen and AC. Problem is itā€™s only got 1/2ā€ ports. Would 1/2ā€ ports allow enough water flow to flush in an engine-off flush setup? (Iā€™ve verified my boat is a candidate for engine off flushing).       November 5, 2019 at 11:00 pm I flush the engines simultaneously. Dock water pressure is pretty decent. Since the very first time I tried it I make sure that there is adequate water flow out the exhaust. I also feel the back of the raw water pumps to make sure that neither are warm. They have never been warm. A am confident that there is plenty of water flow. I tend to let the flushing procedure go a bit longer (4-5 minutes) to ensure that there is nothing but fresh w…

      July 12, 2019 at 1:56 pm My stbd QSB 5.9 exhaust blanket has some black soot on it. Hasnā€™t changed much since Iā€™ve owned the boat. Iā€™m away from her at the moment but plan on taking the blanket off and replacing the tabs as theyā€™ve broken. Is this pretty indicative of an exhaust leak? Either on the riser or turbo flange? Or just normal?

Not much grease that I could tell…..but they came out ok. Been through most of the cleaning steps so far and just wondering about 2 things at this point…. A) this slight pitting on the bundle? I’d like to use the sbmar tee that I see advertised for this setup. My question is, can regular hardware store brass items be used on the transom/freshwater side leading up to the sbmar tee?       March 6, 2019 at 9:27 am I’ve read the aftercooler service article, forum posts, and watched the vid….I’m pretty set on that.       March 7, 2019 at 6:21 am Rod out the tubes as you can– a 1/8″ dia aluminum “TIG” rod works great.. Remove the zincs, Cap one end, and stand vertical, Fill the “tube side” with 10:1 for 30-60 minutes and rinse..You will see “bubbles” as it acid dissolves the calcium lime, old zinc, etc. Tony

      January 14, 2019 at 2:48 pm I have twin 5.9 380s. Some friends are doing a paddleboard charity this summer, paddling from Bimini to West Palm. 80nm. Yes, theyā€™re crazy. I will be their support vessel. Iā€™m expecting this to take about 12-14hrs. Are there any concerns with going this slow for this long? Iā€™ll likely have to be idling, or slightly above, for the whole crossing. Should I run up on plane 1x per hour or something like that? Thanks!

      December 6, 2016 at 12:32 pm Can a Cummins ETS binnacle setup be swapped out/added to a boat that currently has separate electronic shifters/mechanical throttle controls?Ā  The separate shift/throttle is on the 07 Meridian 391, but in 08 they switched to the ETS binnacle on the same motors. Id consider doing this to add the sync feature on the ETS, and removing the shifters currently there would free up some space at the helm for some electronics. Thank you!
