February 4, 2019 at 4:50 pm Hi, I bought a Fell Marine MOB+ wireless man overboard system for my Meridian w twin QSBs. The goal is to kill the motors if I go in the drink, and have an alarm go off if the Admiral or the dogs go in. The system seems to be built for outboard boats primarily……but I gotta think it can be wired in to my existing start stop switches. Iā€™ve been in touch w Fell tech support but am not getting all the answers I need. Iā€™ve seen t…

December 18, 2023 at 8:15 am I found this tread regarding the same question I have so I pull it up again. I bought the Fell Marine MOB+ for my actual 30ft single engine RIB for the same reason OP Robert wrote, but in my case as I boat often alone and I guess its a uncomfortable situation falling over word and see the boat leaving. Any else who managed to install the Fell Marine MOB+ (or any other similar wireless kill switch as the ACR Olas Guardian)?<br />If so, how …

    • Have these 6BTAs been upgraded to 370hp?

August 5, 2020 at 5:41 pm Buddy bought a boat. Tag on the motor says 6bta 330hp. But in neutral we got around 3100rpms. Spec for a 6bta 330 shows 2800. Assuming the tachs are ā€œnearā€ correct. Is there a sure fire way to tell if these motors have been upgraded?

April 26, 2019 at 1:13 pm Iā€™ve sent Tony Athens these same pictures for review, but wanted to get a thread going with my progress for all to see. Twin QSBs. ACs have been serviced 1x by a previous owner (there were 4). I donā€™t believe they removed the AC and bench serviced. Iā€™ve only done my stbd AC at the moment. Slight green corrosion on both caps. No performance issues pointing me to any problems. Caps came off easily as expected. Top zinc was mostly intact …

February 23, 2021 at 5:11 am For those sitting on the fence about doing it, I thought I should share this. Pulled the caps and the core slid out without any effort, not one tube was blocked. Pics 1 to 4 taken as it was disassembled, everything still covered in metalube, pics 5 to 9 taken after c…

February 10, 2021 at 2:40 pm Just wanted to share a piggyback story to my other post about flushing my seawater circuit. I did that this weekend. Ran the boat yesterday and got a few water in fuel warnings on the smartcraft. Racor was full of water on 3 occasions. Long story short…..I pulled my seawater hose off the fuel cooler and there were red diesel droplets in the water. I guess I can only attribute this to the acid flush loosening up some corrosion on t…

February 5, 2021 at 1:12 pm Twin QSBs. January 7, 2021 at 10:21 pm My Cummins powered Meridian has 2 bilge blowers in between the engine room and lazarette on the stbd side. They are failing. Why are these used on a diesel boat, and when should I use them? (Iā€™m fully aware of the reason and usage for gas boats). Is it for engine room cooling? While running or back at the dock?

    • Would this manifold work for FW flushing?

This topic has 2 replies, has 3 voices, and was last updated byfirehoser75 4 years ago

January 1, 2020 at 10:49 am I found this on Facebook and it looks like a nice clean solution to flushing my mains, gen and AC. Problem is itā€™s only got 1/2ā€ ports. Would 1/2ā€ ports allow enough water flow to flush in an engine-off flush setup? (Iā€™ve verified my boat is a candidate for engine off flushing). My existing FW setup goes to my AC and gen, and is bigger hose…..more like 5/8 or 3/4 if I recall.

August 29, 2019 at 12:38 pm Iā€™ve established already through this forum that my exhaust is all downhill, and I can hook up a FWF setup into the port on the seawater pump for engine off flushing. July 12, 2019 at 1:56 pm My stbd QSB 5.9 exhaust blanket has some black soot on it. Hasnā€™t changed much since Iā€™ve owned the boat. Iā€™m away from her at the moment but plan on taking the blanket off and replacing the tabs as theyā€™ve broken. Is this pretty indicative of an exhaust leak? Either on the riser or turbo flange? March 6, 2019 at 1:54 pm After my upcoming raw water side servicing, I’d like to set up a FW flush for the motors. I have an existing setup for the Gen and AC. I’d like to use the sbmar tee that I see advertised for this setup. My question is, can regular hardware store brass items be used on the transom/freshwater side leading up to the sbmar tee? Or should all the plumbing be bronze (read…..expensive, lol) fittings? Thanks!
