Hi; just pulled my stbd AC to make them the sbmar way. Coolers came apart with between minimal and some effort. Not much grease that I could tell…..but they came out ok. Been through most of the cleaning steps so far and just wondering about 2 things at this point….

    A) this slight pitting on the bundle? Normal? Concern? Sand some more?

    B) just sand and grease the housing where the black paint is missing on the inside?

    Thanks!!!!!

I found similar pictures (after I posted of course) and read the same. You also said in that thread lube it up and put it together and itā€™s fine, so Iā€™ll go with that upon successful pressure testing.

What I see looks normal these days for the core supplied from Cummins for the last 6-10 years…………. Brass “termites” that now seem to eat into a less quality alloy that is being used.. I never saw this in the 1st 15+ years when Serek in the UK was supplying the cores.. Not sure what changed other that the alloy of the brass that is now being used compared to a decade before is not the same..

Just one more reason to follow my protocol..
