Thanks for the quick response. If I get to a sea trial just to make sure I understand. Run the boat at 2000 rpm’s and if the fuel burn is higher than 19 Gals an hour I need to make prop adjustments? Thanks George

Thanks for letting me know. I will cut them open at the end of this season and post some pictures. My 3208 Cats did not return nearly that much fuel. This is why I’m glad I found this place always learning. So if I am changing them out 1200 to 1500 gallons of fuel burned it’s more like I have ran 4-5 thousand gallons through the filters? Thanks George

Oh Ok that’s one area I know. The fuel comes out of my fuel truck and right into my boat. I have been in the diesel fuel bis for 35 years. I change filters on gallons burned not engine hours. Thanks

Thanks Tony, The coolers were off 3 years ago when I bought the boat. They will be off again this year as I feel every 3 years is a good service cycle. You helped me with all the O-ring gaskets on the aftercooler and heat exchanger. I can get both end caps and the cores out of the heat exchanger and aftercooler is there a need to remove it from the motor? I need to review your protocol. My season here in Jersey is from April til October that the boat is in the water. The On-Engine-Filter I am guessing is the oil filter? I do oil changes every season or 200 hours. I will cut the next filter open and take a look. Thanks for the help Tony

Thanks Kevin. Yes that is the same as my wire that I unplugged my sensor from. Corey I believe the code is 415 I will check it on Wednesday when I am at the boat. Thanks

No I only have one filter per motor so I would be looking at taking the alarm out all together. I have a pretty good handle on my fuel not to say it canā€™t have water in it. I pick it up from the rack in the truck and put it right in my boat. So I know the tank on the truck is clean. Thanks for the tip about the antifreeze I will look into that. George

Good morning, I am having the same problem. Is there a part number you could send is I can order those jumper wires? I am still using the Racor filters not sure if that matters. My motors are also QSC 8.3 they are 2006. This is especially a problem for me. As I am the fuel guy for most of the marina. I know the quality of the fuel. There is no water. It comes out of my truck and right into the boat. Thanks George

Thanks Rob I will pull the cover off and take a little better look at it. Doesnā€™t sound like itā€™s a big deal or a big problem then.

Are those the original props that came on that boat from new? If not give Henriques a call Manny will tell you what it left the factory with. I have known quiet a few Henriques owners when you buy one of there boats new or used you are like family now. George
Sorry I missed that line where you said you spoke to the factory.

Ok see if any of these help. The close up one of the turbo shows some soot is that something
I should be looking in to.

Here are the pics of the alternator. A guy in the marina saw me taking it for and said there was
a shop down the road that could fix it. So I gave it a shot. Dropped it off at 3pm and at 4:30 the
guy called and said it was ready. I asked how much he said $30. He replaced one brush. Said
it looked like it got a little wet. Tony you can tell a lot from a pic. Still want to get a new one.
I think he wrote SI 22 on the tag.

Rob I will take some pics in a couple of days. I don’t think there is any box. The boat is a 43 Post
1987 it was repowered in 2006. I bought it last July so I don’t have a lot of history with it.
Also I see you are here in the north east. Do you think the motor could be sweating? The water
under the boat is 60 and the air for a couple of days was 90. Thanks for the help guys

Thanks I will take it off on Monday and post the pics. The engine room is dry but
that is the out board side of the motor and close to the air intake in the hull.

Tony Those pics are good but the O-rings I’m talking about are on the pipes you took off to get them out. The chrome ones. I think I can match up the old ones but a few are very close in size here are the part numbers of the gaskets that I could use your help getting right 144582 145583 3866633 145582. Are there manuals available for these motors that would have all this info in them? Like pics and brake downs with part numbers. If so could you get me a price on them I like to have something to reference when I take things apart. Thanks

Tony I’m servicing the after cooler and heat exchanger on a QSC. When I removed the metal pipes that attach to each. The ones that the sea water flows through. I saw that there were O-rings on those pipes. I guess since you don’t include them with your service kit they don’t always need to be changed. I just bought the boat so I was not sure when they were changed last. There are two that are very similar in diameter but one is much thinner. I was hoping there was a picture that you could post with the part numbers so I put the right O-rings in the right places. One of the pipes comes from the fuel cooler and looks like a U. I hope this helps. Thanks
