April 7, 2024 at 4:48 am I am wanting help to solve, what I understand is a very unusual problem, with a 24V Delco 22S1 alternator on a youngish Cummins 6CTA 8.3 mechanical diesel engine. It has suddenly begun to continually pump out highly fluctuating / high current into a bank of 2 x 12V, fully charged, (electrolyte SG > 1.24) lead acid / deep cycle batteries – connected in series. The Amps range is about 15-70 Amps at the idle RPM of 600. The duration of ea…

April 4, 2024 at 4:57 pm Hey everyone. I have a water leak coming out of both my aftercoolers. Itā€™s leaking out of the check valve or condensation drain on the bottom of the aftercoolers. Starboard is worst than the port. Port being more like a sprinkle and the starboard more like a constant trickle of water. Could this be a good indicator for a damaged core?

April 4, 2024 at 3:58 pm An acquaintance of mine made a mistake. He was changing his fuel filters and started his engine without turning the fuel feed and return lines on. He stated he let it run for about 5 seconds, noticed it sounded rough, and then again for about 10 seconds. He said he ended up with about a pint of diesel in his bilge with spray around the fuel pump. He cleaned it up, and the engine ran fine. However, he noticed a slight diesel residue at the bottom…
