6cta slow acceleration and black smoke

I am having slow acceleration and black smoke from 1300 to 2200 rpms. Takes about 15-20 seconds to go through that rpm range. Boat is 40’  just had bottoming done, serviced aftercoolers, heat exchangers, impellers, and fuel. I do not have boost gauges.

No idea why you’d check your fuel filters w/black smoke, but the air filter isn’t a bad idea.<br /><br />Better than that, navigate to the low power troubleshooting guide on this site and go through it step by step.

Start simple.  How old are the Racors, fuel filters and air filters?
