    • CCV system still getting oil in intake

April 8, 2020 at 11:03 am Hi guys, I have a environvent ccv system on my boat and its not getting the job done. Getting a fair amount of oil in the intake system. I have a 6bta with a v drive. So I have the vent set up on the front valve cover. But due to a low engine box I had to modify the evirovent system to fit under the box. So I don’t have enough vertical rise. I was thinking about putting an oil separator in line to take care of this issue. My question is do…

April 13, 2020 at 2:35 pm Hi Tony, It is a modified version of your envirovent product. I ordered it from you but when I got it the neck didnā€™t fit under my engine box. I had to put a different neck off the valve cover to make it shorter so it would fit under my engine box. I just used a 1/2 in pipe as the neck. Believe it is 1/2 inch inside diameter. Then I used a quick disconnect ,kind of a fire hose type of connector, to tie into the CCV hose. I think that is part …

    • Leaky ZF 220VLD

November 3, 2016 at 3:00 pm Hey Guys, Have leaky transmission. Appears to be coming from the engine side of the tranny above the prop shaft. Think its coming from tranny seal at engine coupling shaft and dripping down and leaking between transmission and engine flywheel housing. Does this make sense? Im not a transmission guy but don’t have any other ideas on where it would be coming from. Front of tranny is dry and all the hoses for cooler and drain line all seem to…

August 22, 2019 at 11:03 am I know this is an old thread but I have a 2001 Sea Ray Sundancer with Cummins 6CTA8.3 450 Diamond (serials 45975708 and 45980411) mated to a ZF V-Drive transmission. I started getting a leak right around where the housing for the transmission is mated to the engine. Seems like a similar issue to the one described in this thread. I have some rust on the underside of the engine where the engine and housing is attached and I imagine the rust has…

    • Turbo flip 1 2

March 6, 2018 at 7:21 am Hi guys, Sorry to beat a dead horse. But Iā€™ve been looking at ways to get some more height above the waterline on my turbo without having to chop up my engine box. Iā€™m wondering if I can flip my turbo. Currently it exhausts out the port side of the boat and of course rocking at sea can cause issues due to straight shot to turbo and questionable height above waterline. Looks like if I flipped my turbo I would gain about 5 in of height. Plus by p…

May 21, 2018 at 7:21 am I screwed around with the alarm circuit board and if I pull the input plug on WIF circuit it makes no change to alarm. If I pull the output plug on the water circuit the WIF light goes out along with alarm. My concern is the audlible alarm seems weak. Can barely hear it with the engine running. Same with the ignition on and engine not running. Seems it has lost some volume.

January 23, 2017 at 5:07 pm Hey guys, i have my engine out the boat. I keep looking at the engine mounts and wondering if I should be replacing them. The boat is 16 hrs old and has a little over 1000 hrs on it. New had any vibration issues but keep thinking since I’m going to have to align everything Ā I should replace them? What kind of life do you normally get out of these mounts. I’ve attached a picture of a couple of them. They all look about the same. Thank…

March 9, 2017 at 11:55 am David, I have no knowledge of the Yanmar 6LP in the Albin 28TE having issues with seawater into the turbo outlet and that was a very popular powerplant for that boat starting in the later 90’s.

    • Blow by test for 370b

December 9, 2016 at 4:41 pm Had a couple question on the blow by test for a 370b. I read Tony’s article on the test but have heard from other people that I should use a larger orifice when testing a 370B. I think it was .301 vs .221 orifice. Does it really matter? And if i use a larger orifice will that change the number im looking for, such as In water at the manometer. Also i believe the tests needs to be done while the engine is under load? So it needs to be runni…
