Is there a setting im missing any ideas on how to get the forum search function to work? All other aspects of the site work. This post will be a test as to wh…

April 27, 2024 at 1:40 pm Hello guys, I will be draining and replacing coolant on my 2005 Mainship for my first time. Ā In reviewing your technical info, you show a drain plug at the red arrow, but mine does not have a plug there. Ā I do see a plug at the other end of this tube, as shown in my photos where my finger is pointing (the next is the close up one is from underneath the tube). May 1, 2024 at 7:01 am Does anyone have experience with an impeller puller tool that works with a Sherwood 1730 raw water pump?. this is on a 6BTA engine. Amazon has one from Jabsco but I would like to know if it (or some o0ther tool) would work. Thanks

May 1, 2024 at 4:29 pm That depends. If your impeller has threads in the center, get the tool that screws into it and pushes the impeller out. If not, remove the plate, bump the engine over and hope it will allow the impeller to come out a bit. A tapered vice grip helps pull it out. The last one I did for a friend took 45 minutes pulling alternate sides with a vice grip.Ā

    • 6CTA – Turbo Dripping Oil

This topic has 4 replies, has 4 voices, and was last updated byJimmyK 9 hours ago

April 26, 2024 at 7:08 am First time I noticed this was after putting the boat back in the water yesterday and going for a long ride to test temps out after servicing the Aftercoolers per Tony’s method. Ā  There was oil ontop of the transmission which seems to be coming from the Turbo. The oil is clean and looks new so it must be from my recent oil change which is why I believe this is a new thing that happened yesterday.Ā  Ā  Ā

May 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm Those are some ugly pictures!Ā  Lots of saltwater around the intake while underway (looks like even the air filter is covered in rust?!) and the color of the paint on the turbo intake side also speaks volumes.
