August 2, 2018 at 6:12 am I guess my valve to switch between tanks was lose, in some rough seas last night the valve managed to move about 1/4 turn to where it ran my 6BTA out of fuel. My mission today afterwork is to get her started again. Any tips on bleeding the fuel system?

September 24, 2019 at 10:11 am How many engine hours since it was last cleaned, spic and span, if ever? No blockage, just a film coating or such, right? Does not look alarming to me. Any other signs of issues of soot in the engine room – such as on cold surfaces, air filter? How about oil residue – air filter, turbo air inlet? Are you up to snuff as to engine room ventilation and a good working CCV system? Any good engine and engine room pics to share?

July 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm Hi There- Just fired the boat up for the first time a few days ago, when it’s idling at the dock there is no smoke, as soon as i go under a load it seems to be heavy brown smoke as i’m coming up on plane. Once i’m on plane the smoke seems to be more white while cruising. Starboard motor does it the most but port motor also. Also can’t get the motors past 2100 rpms and there is raw diesel being dumped through the exhaust. …

December 14, 2018 at 11:55 am General question here… My boat is a 31 North Coast Express, twin Cummins 6 BTA Recons with around 800 hours. The boat cruises around 17 knots at 2100 RPMS, wide open i’m around 20 knots at 2400 RPMs. I would love some ideas to increase the horse power and get the boat cruising around 20 plus knots.

January 1, 2019 at 4:26 pm Thanks guys for getting back to me, I was able to grab a few pics of the fuel pump and serial numbers, I was solo, and couldn’t get the engine covers totally off. I hope this helps:
