August 11, 2021 at 6:56 am I am in the process of learning my new to me 6bta 330 Cummins engines. I have install the SMX egt kits on my engines and i have a question. At cruise between 2200 and 2350 25 to 27 knots my port temp is reading 905 and starboard is 900 degrees. Are these temperatures ok?

August 13, 2021 at 11:56 am Adding pitch AND a 4th blade is most likely to add too much load. Photo-tach the engine before you keep messing with the props or there’s a chance you’ll have to do your prop adjustments all over again. Once you get your props/rpms right only then will you know your actual EGT for the long haul.

July 26, 2021 at 4:31 am I purchased your transmission gauges 400psi and 400psi sending units and installed. I attached the white wire from the gauge panel to sending terminal on gauge. I used the white and black wire from the engine wiring harness to the sending unit. On engine start up the gauge goes to like 350 not in gear. HELP

July 27, 2021 at 7:10 am I dont know the actual measurement but it will be a good amount of antifreeze to do it so be prepared to drain most of it. The thermostat housing is not that high compared to the expansion tank which is located above it. Expansion tank holds over 2 gallons (depending what model)

July 23, 2020 at 4:19 am Yesterday I was installing my panels and noticed on the port panel circuit board no wire was attached to the ignition stud. The starboard panel has a purple wire attached to that stud.Could the port panel be wired differently? Should there be a wire attached to the ignition stud and from where?

April 1, 2020 at 4:33 am Please see attached pictures. On the gauge panel what is the white wire for? Also on the engine harness the 2 wire plug with the pink striped wire what is the purpose of these 2 wires as there is no plug on the engine harness for these 2 wires. Also how does the neutral safety switch tie into the wiring? The engines are 330 6bta’s. Thank you.

The yel/red wire is the “starting circuit” so that needs to be “make or break” – as to cutting it in, you are there so you need to make the call as to the best way to put it in series.

March 16, 2020 at 8:04 am Those two wires are not used.. They were part of a future development plan for making the mechanical engines “energize to stop”, and that never happened.

December 15, 2018 at 12:24 pm If they were shipped with FF5285 does that mean that the filter was shipped on the filter head or were the filters in a box on the pallet with the engine? We can supply you with the right insert. Just give me a call on Monday. They are not expensive, but you will have to pay shipping. (805) 382 – 6287. If there is more stuff that you need i will throw in the insert for free.
