I am in the process of learning my new to me 6bta 330 Cummins engines. I have install the SMX egt kits on my engines and i have a question. At cruise between 2200 and 2350 25 to 27 knots my port temp is reading 905 and starboard is 900 degrees. Are these temperatures ok?

Adding pitch AND a 4th blade is most likely to add too much load.

Photo-tach the engine before you keep messing with the props or there’s a chance you’ll have to do your prop adjustments all over again.

Once you get your props/rpms right only then will you know your actual EGT for the long haul.

Rob, still playing with wheels as of now wide open is 2850 4 blade 18×25’s. Before the 4 blade18 x25’s i tried 18×23 3 blades and was against the governor. I have not photo tached.

    See attached “Exhaust System”

What is your WOT RPM and was it verified with a photo tach?

Give Tony’s response to this thread a read.

I searched “6BTA EGT” and this was the 4th item in the list.
