      May 1, 2018 at 6:15 pm Aftercooler in Cummins 6cta 450 HP Diamonds maintenance year 2001 I removed my aftercoolers for maintenance, I found out the have a small drill hole about 1 mm or 2 mm just at the side bottom of the cooler, when installed I felt the air turbo coming out. They are in the same place in both aftercoolers at the same location, see picture. Is this something original from the factory or it was done by the previous owners mechanic? Have someone notice…

      June 2, 2018 at 1:23 pm Post good pics.. Use a drill bit and determine the actual size of the hole.. Both Detroit/MTU on the Series 60’s, and Volvo have used this “Technique” to drain condensation over the years.. Tony

      November 27, 2017 at 4:24 pm Salt water is heavier than fresh water so if you open the sea cock…no,big deal. I personally leave them closed but it’s not imperative…..

      November 21, 2017 at 11:28 am Thank you, Tony and Rob, for the explanation. My engines have 1,250 hours. Last time I tested Wot I was making 2,650, my Diver just cleaning the bottom and the props this week, I will check again my WOT, if not I will re-prop to make 2,750 rpm as suggested.
