Here is my test rig. Itās 2 pieces of 1/2ā aluminum i got from my local welder. The gaskets are toilet bowl rubber from Home Depot. The pressure gauge is from a pool store, and the fittings are all Home Depot stuff. Once you get everything right so thereās no leaks in the test rig fittings, it worked great!
NICE

i replaced the cores with 2 new ones. The radiator shop told me they never saw holes in the aftercoolers, this was done by the previous owner.
Aftercoolers are done now, should i keep the little holes ( condensation holes) or should i close them with Epoxi ?are this little holes just for condensation water, ?
What should i do?

yes I removed the after coolers, took it to a radiator shop to remove the cores, i bought the after coolers and heat exchanges with metal lube grease kit from you. They pressure tested the cores, and they were leaking air, so i bought 2 new cores from Cummins, you are out of stock from your website. here is a picture of the cores, they are clean inside because 6 months ago we did a run clean-out with barnacle buster to the entire system.
here is a picture of the cores.November 21, 2017 at 11:42 am #25445

Fernando,
As others have said itās easy to make the kit, I used this stainless steel manifold that is plumbed to the genset, both motors, air con and salt water wash down pumps.
The garden hose attaches to an on deck fitting and all the connections to the groco intakes are as described above.
Not a lot of money spent for a huge benefit, last week I changed an impeller in my genset, I had to take off the end cap of the heat exchanger to chase down all the broken impeller pieces, the inside of the heat exchanger was perfect, no corrosion or scale.Wow, that is a great idea, I will think about it.

Thank you, Tony and Rob, for the explanation.
My engines have 1,250 hours.
Last time I tested Wot I was making 2,650, my Diver just cleaning the bottom and the props this week,
I will check again my WOT, if not I will re-prop to make 2,750 rpm as suggested.
My engines are running great, like new, they start right away, no smoke.
I just cleaned all the Seawater coolers side as per your recommendation using the Alco Metalube, that was a great product.November 20, 2017 at 5:14 pm #25414

Hi Bill. I am just curious, I have a Cummins 6cta, I donāt have a fuel meter. How do you know your fu burn, did your engines came originally or did you installed a fuel meter ?
Fernando
Morning, need some assistance. 2002, 1000 hours, 5 bladed prop, diameter and pitch unknown. Inter cooler serviced and gear cooler serviced in 2012, at 750 hours, report said seriously corroded, flushing and replacement of antifreeze done 2 years ago. WOT rpm unknown or at least that is what I am being told. Hot end of turbo and pipe and small part of inter cooler discolored light brown from heat, impeller ,oil , filters ,serviced regularly since 2012. Fuel burn I am told at 2475 rpm, 24.1 gallons, fuel burn at 2160 is 16.7 gallons per hour. I am sorry that I do not have pictures of turbo , but when I looked at engine it was apparent, and drew my attention..
5 bladed prop pushing 19000 lbs, beam 13.6, water line 36 ft, semi displacement down east hull.
Seriously considering boat , but real apprehensive on motor, confirm or dispel my fears please .
