    • Changing Impeller Cummins 6BTA5.9

May 28, 2023 at 9:08 am I have found it incredibly difficult to replace the impeller on my twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9s. Even with the impeller tool and liquid soap the job is a bear. My inclination is to remove the unit itself, take it to a workbench to install the impeller and then Re-install the unit. Am I missing something or is this just a difficult job? Any tips or tricksĀ  would be appreciated.

March 2, 2022 at 12:09 pm I want to remove my starboard turbocharger from the exhaust manifold. Ā The top two turbo to manifold 15mm nuts appear to be easy to access. Ā Any suggestions for the right tool (offset or ā€˜Sā€™ box wrench, etc) to access the lower nuts? Ā Thanks. Ā

These wrenches were used for various other applications like starter bolts on old cars where you could not reach with a regular wrench. You can grind down the thickness of an inexpensive wrench also to get in there. I think I may have replaced on…

December 25, 2020 at 7:21 pm I just removed my aftercoolers from my 370Bā€™s. After cleaning, testing and reassembling, Iā€™ve repainted both and am ready to reinstall. For the zincs to be effective, do I need electrical continuity between the aftercoolers and the engine block (and the boat bonding system).ā€ The L-brackets that support them are painted and am wondering if they should be wirebrushed on both sides before installation.
