I want to remove my starboard turbocharger from the exhaust manifold.  The top two turbo to manifold 15mm nuts appear to be easy to access.  Any suggestions for the right tool (offset or ‘S’ box wrench, etc) to access the lower nuts?  Thanks.

Here is a wrench that you could possibly use.  I dont know if the “box” 12 point end is too thick to get over the head of the nut and “stud” that protrudes but it is worth a try.

These wrenches were used for various other applications like starter bolts on old cars where you could not reach with a regular wrench.

You can grind down the thickness of an inexpensive wrench also to get in there.

I think I may have replaced one of these studs with an actual bolt for this reason on one of my 4BTs (dont quote me on that…my memory is playing tricks on me…lol).  Thgis may allow access with the wrench in the picture.

    good luck

We’ve always been able to get to them with a high quality 12 point thin sectioned box wrench
