September 13, 2020 at 2:27 pm Tried to be a hero by doing simple stuff myself for the first time……but it ain’t working out as planned. Changed my Racors last week. Finally found the secondary filters for the 480 CE’s and switched both out today. Forgot to add fuel into them before install. Still, STBD engine started. Stopped after a bit. Undid the fitting attached to the injector pump, loosened an injector line above, had a bud crank it over since pumpi g the primer wasn’t getting me anywhere, fuel started to spill from the fitting, then the injector line and the beast fired up. Removing the Magnet / Screen Hex

October 20, 2016 at 4:07 am The Hex nut that is part of the magnetic screen is a shallow hex and is usually TIGHT. Ā To get a more positive grip modify the socket on a bench grinder to remove the chamfer this way the socket walls make complete contact with the sides of the hex minimizing any damage or “rounding” of the hex. Ā My 220A reguired a 36mm socket. Ā A breaker bar is handy IF your engine “room” allows it. Ā Be mindful to keep the socket seated …

March 8, 2020 at 8:29 pm So a couple of days ago I changed out the port impeller like I do every 2 years and the removed impeller was in perfect shape but replaced it anyway. After running the boat today, everything was working very well as usual except I noticed much more steam than usual. This is not white smoke. The starboard engine was showing very little steam but the port engine, much more. This is on the side I replaced the impeller. I used a infrared temperature…

QSB key switch delay

November 24, 2019 at 9:35 am Have QSB 425 5.9…turning key to start engines is really delayed. started on port…but now on stb too. seems to have gotten worse over months time. always fire right up after delays. New batteries. cleaned up mag switch connections. and checked neutral safety switches on zf280 trans. seem fine. hynautic hydraulic controls. any ideas? thanks.
