July 14, 2020 at 12:06 pm I have been experiencing on cold start up only, my oil pressure readings being inaccurate with variances of 30psi from one motor to the next. Oil level and engine performance are optimal and give no indication of fault or any type of failure internally. The only way to resolve this issue is to run it up to higher load, wait for the alarm to go off then cycle the ignitions and both gauges read correctly for the rest of the day regardless if r…

July 15, 2020 at 12:25 pm Tony, thanks for the response and your input. Would you believe that the gauges read correctly yesterday eve when I took the boat out for the first time all season? I would still like to take a mechanical gauge to compare the readings but have to believe that it is not the motor(s) but the “Smartcrap” readings.

June 14, 2018 at 8:16 pm I have a pair of 2005 QSB 5.9’s in my 36 Tiara Open and having issues with starboard side. The engine is making excessive vibration at all rpm’s, will not turn up to max rpm under load, show’s 10% higher load at idle rpm and is 20-30% higher load when at matching throttle rpm’s and percentage of throttle. Without the assistance of the port engine the starboard will not reach 2000 RPM and when both engines are at WOT, it…

June 19, 2018 at 5:20 pm As luck would have it the problem was found by a 4th set of eyes prior to any lap top diagnosis. One of the connectors on the top of the engine which is connected to the 5 and 6 cylinders separated enough to cut off the two engine cylinders. With a tiny squeeze my issue went away thanks to a butt connector. Thanks for the helpful responses that you all provided.
