    • 6CTA – Turbo Dripping Oil

April 26, 2024 at 7:08 am First time I noticed this was after putting the boat back in the water yesterday and going for a long ride to test temps out after servicing the Aftercoolers per Tony’s method. Ā  There was oil ontop of the transmission which seems to be coming from the Turbo. The oil is clean and looks new so it must be from my recent oil change which is why I believe this is a new thing that happened yesterday.Ā  Ā  Ā

Turbo – leaking oil and sent out to Turbo Dave for new cartridge – result – brought boost up 10 lbs Turbo pipe gasket leaking after rebuild – found that and got a little more boost going where it was supposed to go. February 14, 2021 at 11:17 am Looking for advice at to whether I should stick with the 180 or change to the 160. I’ve read the article and would change to a 160 if I ran off-shore, get the protection factor from the additional prevent alarm at 190. Here are my current boating conditions: Most trips are 15 to 20 minutes cruising before I drop lines, some times less. Max cruises 45 minutes, which I do more just to ‘run’ the boat under a load. November 28, 2023 at 6:06 pm Sorry, I was not trying to correct anyone’s terminology. Just pointing out that the starters discussed here are not the same as in an old Ford Fairlane. Those really did have a genuine bendix starter, which is a cheap alternative for relatively low-end use. Because of the extra electrical power needed to push the pinion in a Cummins starter the mag switch is quite important.
