      February 22, 2020 at 6:17 am morning, 42 ft ,26000 lb boat trawler. can this engine be upgraded to 350 ? prop is currently 28 by 21 ,tranny twin disc 506-1 , can i add diameter and pitch but maintain the max rpm and increase speed ? currently cruise at 8 to 9 knots at 2000 rpm, can we get this to 10 ,11 knots or higher ? engine has 4300 hours. also to replace, recommended engine re manufactured ? thanks bill

      February 24, 2020 at 3:36 pm Tranny twindisc 506 1 , prop 28 21 .Current cruise 8 9 knots. Unknown wot and max rpm. Shaft 2 1/4 inch. Would love to keep current engine but cant handle 8 9 knots. Recreation , 250 hours a year seasonal 6 mos. Fuel burn at 16 knots as little ad possible. 2000 boat can I use remaned mechanical .Suggestion would be helpful. Weight maybe 2800 but told 26000. Would love to keep current engine but not at 8 or 9 knots. And can you trade old engines …

      October 24, 2017 at 4:15 am Morning, need some assistance. 2002, 1000 hours, 5 bladed prop, diameter and pitch unknown. Inter cooler serviced and gear cooler serviced in 2012, at 750 hours, report said seriously corroded, flushing and replacement of antifreeze done 2 years ago. WOT rpm unknown or at least that is what I am being told.       May 11, 2019 at 10:17 am Hi again, to follow-up on my previous post, we had the aftercooler pressure tested at 30psi, and no leak. So there was no saltwater leak. PHEWW. The core was soldered, we had repaired some broken pipes and put it back the seaboard way with plenty of Metalube only a couple months ago.       November 29, 2017 at 12:42 pm Buying a boat with a 440 yanmar 6ly2a with 650 hours. Going to have head and valves replaced because of problems that the 440 has had , this engine has not had tjat issue.Anything else I should be concerned about with this engine. 2006 engine. Thanks Bill

Seller was very conscientious, as I am with my 370, and he has had coolers serviced, anti freeze I will check and she is propped properly. He only cruised from 2200 to 2800 but mostly at lower rpms.
