Fuel burn at 16 knots as little ad possible.
2000 boat can I use remaned mechanical .Suggestion would be helpful. Weight maybe 2800 but told 26000.
Would love to keep current engine but not at 8 or 9 knots. And can you trade old engines in ?
A lot of questions I know.

November 30, 2017 at 7:09 am #25720Thank you Tony, I am flying up to Maine Tuesday, and I will take pictures of the motor, exhaust, etc. and post. Seller was very conscientious, as I am with my 370, and he has had coolers serviced, anti freeze I will check and she is propped properly. He only cruised from 2200 to 2800 but mostly at lower rpms.
Now I am having the seller replace the head and the valves , this will be done by Lyman -Morse an authorized Yanmar dealer.
Do you have any knowledge whether Yanmar has replacement heads for this ? I am sure Lyman -morse will know but it would be good for me to know ?
Thank you very much. I will post pictures next week , Friday when I return.
Regards,
Bill
October 29, 2017 at 2:41 am #24377Thank you Tony, I will have to think about this one. As you mentioned in order for it to be right and in order for me not to be worrying about if and when the engine goes , the engine would have to be gone over completely. Have to take that cost into consideration.
The boat has been maintained to the highest level, unfortunately the owner doesn’t understand about over propping , etc.
Thank you , you all have been very helpful.

October 25, 2017 at 3:01 am #24270Thanks Rob. Trying to get numbers. She has been used as a pleasure craft, not sure as to what speed he cruised at. Broker said 24.1 gph at 2475 rpm at 19.1 knots and than she said the 2475 was wot. Dont know if she knew what she said .
I think he cruised at 2160 and burned the 16.7 gph.
Your thoughts Sir.

October 24, 2017 at 9:45 am #24246Thank you Rob. They never mention heat exchanger or fuel cooler being serviced. And of course all fluids have been changed which may be curious too.
At this juncture not sure what I am going to do. Can you give me a rough dollar amount to bring this engine back to excellent operation ?
Just a rough number so I can take that in considerstion if I should make offer.
Is Cummins anti freeze pink or green ?
Again thank you. I was afraid it was over propped.
Can. I put a reman 450 in a 2002 hull ?Bill
