Hereā€™s where plastic pieces are coming from on a failing belt tensioner. Ā Stbd shim is missing and port is breaking up. Happened around 1900 hours fwiw.

Thx, did some digging and it does look as though a shim in the belt tensioner has failed. Ā Only bad news is that the tensioner comes as a unit so it’s not possible to replace just the shim.Ā

Regarding engine warmup, I should have been more specific. Ā I always do the warm up under light load, so no problem. Just wasn’t sure if I should risk running the engine with the tensioner problem. I’ll hold off the oil change until everything is fixed.

Great info, thank you. Oil pressure has always been within limits but port generally 8-10 psi lower than stbd. Just want to check accuracy.

OK, thx. I’ve got the combo blocks with oil switch and sender on the face, so I should be able to use the 1/8 NPT on the side. Pardon my ignorance, where exactly is the oil gallery and port, and what is a STORM port?
