    • ENGINE HESITATES AT 1500 RPM

      March 1, 2020 at 4:43 pm HAVE 2004 TIARA 36 SOVRAN WITH TWIN 450S DIESELS. PORT ENGINE HESITATES AT 1500 BEFORE GOING TO FULL POWER PARTICULARLY AFTER SITTING AT THE DOCK FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. REBUILD LIFT PUMP WHICH HELPED FOR SHORT PERIOD. JUST USEDS BOAT FOR FIRST TIME IN THREE MONTHS AND PORT ENGINE TOOK QUITE A LONG TIME TO GET TO OPERATING RPM OF 2100 RPM. THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS.

      September 9, 2019 at 2:19 pm Hi, everybody! Still trying to solve my hesitation at 1600 rpm on my 450 cummins marine diesel – port engine only. Followed Tonys advice and checked throttle linkage stop, lubricated same, plunger works to full stop when engine on, checked turbo blades – fine, no damage, shaft has minor lateral play – blades turn freely with no sight of damage – cold side only. Read this: Aneroid Adjustment on the Bosch P7100 Injection Pump If you have really done all the rest and you DO NOT HAVE any black smoke during the “slow to respond period”, then this is your next step.. Or, just rig up a 20PSI testing system and put that to the aneroid.. If you are not “hands-on”, then you will need some on the boat help.. Tony

      August 22, 2019 at 4:31 pm Have new problem with my Tiara’s Cummins and need your help – when using boat after a week or ten days port engine reluctant to get to normal rpms. Usually, strd engine way ahead reaching cruising rpms of 2200 without delay but port engine gets stuck around 1500-1600 and it takes a few minutes to get it past it.       August 16, 2019 at 8:38 am Have a 2004 Tiara 3600 Sovran with twin 450 Cummins. New to marine diesels and doing this maintenance for first time.Trying to flush engines with Barnacle Buster by pumping solution thru heat exchanger and return thru raw water pump connection. All works well water returning from water pump connection but slowly escaping somewhere else. No evidence of leaks or water in the bilge. Have not plugged/isolated water supply to shaft dripless bearings…
