      April 13, 2017 at 3:04 am We recently signed a contract to sell our boat which has Cummins 6BTA5.9’s coupled to ZF80A transmissions. The buyer had oil samples done and all were normal exept the port transmission which came back with a high iron content of 219ppm. We have only had the boat 12 months and I’ve done almost everything exept change the transmission oils on her.       November 15, 2016 at 7:01 pm The mechanic who was previously looking after our engines disconnected the preheaters on the top of the aftercoolers and told me when I asked it was because the engines didn’t need them in our hot climate and they are not good for the alternators. Is this true or should I reconnect them? The other thing is he just disconnected them by taking the leads off the terminals at the preheaters then taped them up. It looks untidy so if they are no…
