      July 29, 2020 at 8:03 am Cummins 6BTA Starboard gauges just started pulsating at lower RPM’s. Gauges register fine at about 1300+. Requires Parallel Start Switch to start. Will be going down to check batteries. Have had boat for about 15 years. This is a first. If not battery related, could this be an issue with a faulty ground?

      August 4, 2020 at 2:29 am Thanks Tony! I have a mechanic coming next week. I will copy/paste your response for him. I did install an alternator on that engine 3 years ago. I noticed the negative lead to it appeared loose when I jiggled it. I think the alternator requires loosened in order to get to that terminal. While this requires tightening, I don’t think it is the issue.

      September 5, 2019 at 1:33 pm I have two Racor 800MA Filters on a 2002 Silverton with Cummins 6BTA Engines. They are the primary filters and then the engines each have screw on filters. The Racors work OK, but are sloppy to change filters and drain the bowl. I know that Tony dislikes the Racors due to the age of their technology. Is there an inexpensive way to transition to a more modern system? This is not a heavily used boat and only has a total of 600 hours on it as I …
