March 17, 2023 at 7:39 am Attached is a picture of the Magnesium/Aluminum Anode (fresh water) from the bottom of the Port engine aftercooler.Ā  2003 420DA with Cummins 6CTA 8.3 Diamonds.Ā  All other anodes on the Port and Starboard motors have “Normal” wear.Ā  The port bottom anode has to be replaced yearly due to the heavy decay.Ā  Looking for some advice on troubleshooting why the bottom anode on this motor would wear so quickly.Ā  I have checked all ground wire…

    • SMX-17 impeller replacement in Sherwood 1700 series

February 4, 2021 at 7:17 pm Tony and the team, I recently replaced both impellers on my Cummins 450 6CTA with the smx-17 impellers. Since these impellers do not have the threaded end does the rubber piece included with the pump take the place of the white plug used with the Sherwood impellers? There is a caution note in the Sherwood manual regarding replacing the plug to prevent cover damage if the key were to back out. I am hoping that is what the included rubber piece…

    • Starboard Throttle Audible Vibration

June 17, 2019 at 6:04 am Cannot thank this forum enough for all the great inputs. I have a unique question regarding a noise coming from my 2003 SeaRay 420 throttle control. Upon start up of the starboard engine I am hearing a sound that is best described as an audible vibration sound. I am going to get a video of the sound this afternoon and will get it added to this post. It does lessen as the RPM is increased. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

June 3, 2019 at 4:21 pm Looking to replace the 5 batteries in our 2003 420 Sundanceā€™s. In my research the 6CTA8.3ā€™s mention 1250 CCA. Anyone here have inputs on AGM Group 31ā€™s or other batteries recommendations? Thanks very much.

June 5, 2019 at 5:39 pm Yes more are less every 3-4 years. House Deep Cycle is normally 3 yrs as they are working off the inverter. Service twice a year clean and use distilled water only. My inverter is a multi-stage charger so it keeps them charged with out over charge. My older onboard charger stays off unless I have gone through a real deep discharge. Then its on only until batteries are at full charge then off. As Rob said better deal unless hard to get to.

May 20, 2019 at 5:02 pm Below in the attached picture is a part labeled Glendenning inline reverse. It is located on my port motor. I believe it is tied to the engine sync system but am looking for confirmation. It has a very small oil leak, is anyone familiar is this a a simple gasket replacement or more complicated than that? Thank you for your help.
