March 31, 2020 at 7:02 am Hi there, my boat is full of crazy behavior. From the first day on i started to realize that the starboard engine always runs higher on the temperature gauge than the port engine. the temperature of the starboard goes up to 230F if you trust the gauge, but if you measure both engines with infrared, they have exactly the same temperature all over them. the port engine shows only 110F. We drove it like this for 4 days and we always checked both en…

March 31, 2020 at 5:38 am Hi there, as you know, i have 2 6bt cummins engines in my trawler. they are rated with 180 HP. What would be the best model for me? It is only a leisure ship but i want it to be reliable. both engines take fuel from two combined tanks. So i wonder if i ne…

October 7, 2019 at 12:27 pm Good afternoon together, I am since 2 Month the proud owner of a steel yacht build in 1974, repower in 2000 with ZF Transmission and 2 Cummins 6BT 180HP Rated. the engines were in the last 11 years never used and made in the years after the repower roughly 400 hours each. October 13, 2019 at 1:11 pm If you are getting full travel on the throttle, and are not able to achieve same rpm both in forward gear and in neutral, your vessel is most likely overpropped. (Assuming bottom and running gear are clean) This may be intentional, especially on a big, heavy vessel with limited power. If the previous owner kept records, you might be able to look up prop specs to verify.
