    Good Day,

Am new owner of a Monk 36 with a ZF220 transmission and during a fluid level check, I noticed that the oil level was very low.  I have the manual with the diagram that highlights the oil filler plug (cap) and other components.  I was having a real hard time loosening the oil fill plug so I am wondering whether I can add the oil through the dipstick receptacle?  As I am new to all this, I want to ensure I get things right from the get go!

    Appreciate the assistance,

    Craig

The important thing Rob sent is the two minute window to check the oil after turning engine off.

    Can’t check it cold.

Thanks Rob for the quick reply.  Not on the boat until Friday so will send photo then.

Go to Tony’s Tips and search 220. Good info there.

    And this:

Yes add via the dipstick. Keep a close eye on the level. What is the history of the gear cooler?  Post some pics of it.
