Ready to change oil in my 2006 vintage QSC 500 engines.
Trying to find 10w-40 Rotella T, but having trouble.
Most stores now carry T4, meeting a CK classification instead of the old CJ…is the new stuff OK to use?

Thanks to all. Sort of thought CK-4 must be OK, but always good to check.
    Tony, 15w-40…noted.Thanks.

It’s 15W-40, not 10W-40…………..Any name brand 15W-40 diesel rated oil manufactured since 2005-ish, IMO meets the spec.Remember what your engine was designed for when it was built. The later specs have more to do with meeting emission specs than they do with lubrication improvements..

So, just use what they currently sell and don’t worry, would be my advice… Mobil Delvac, Rotella T or Delo 400 and the popular 15W-40’s in Calif.

Just looked at my oil change photos last three seasons, these were end of season changes so looks like sometime in late 2016 or 2017 it became CK-4 ….

My 6BTA’s have always been using Valv Premium Blue. For the last couple years it’s been at CK-4 and it is Cummins approved which is stated right on the product label.
