April 10, 2017 at 6:45 am Hello,I had my starboard alternator go out on me. I have a 2001 3500 Tiara Open with twin 370 6BTA engineĀs. I have 3 AGM 1000 MCA 800 CCA house batteries on the starĀboard side. The starĀboard alternator is missing it’s tag. The tag is still on the port alternator BaĀlmar (912-100) 100 amp and it’s charging two AGM starting baĀtteries . I have a external alternator voltage regulator. ShĀould they both the star and port be the exact …

April 24, 2024 at 1:31 pm Balmar XT series high-output alternators (assuming 2:1 ratio AltRPM:CrankshaftRPM) are around 70% of max output at 1,000 engine rpms and over 80% by the time you get to 1,250 RPM.Ā  Make sure to factor in the ‘gear ratio’ (pulley ratio) between crankshaft and alternator shaft RPMs when looking at alternator output curves. If I am not mistaken, other high-output alternators have similar if not better output vs. RPM curves these days. A…

March 30, 2017 at 3:39 pm You’ll notice now that the created topic will always stay on top of the topic page separate of the replies. In addition to that, the replies have been re-organized so that the newest reply is at the top of the page so they are in effect, “reversed” from how they were before. I have heard a few requests for this feature and so I implemented it… Let me know if this works better for everyone. Feedback is always appreciated.

December 19, 2016 at 12:04 pm 6BTA 370. Currently the coolant is ES Compleat EG. It was changed 5 years ago, approx. 800 hrs of running in those 5 years. I understand that the B series engines are not coolant sensitive, parent bore engine and I could have used regular green anti-freeze but that is not my question. My question is how long will the coolant last OR should I change now?Ā  If you look at the specs for the ES Compleat they state something like 1,000,000 miles or 40…

November 29, 2016 at 2:28 pm I have had the SMX raw water pumps installed on my 6bta -370 for about 5-6 years now. At what point should I think about replacing the cam, seal and bearings? I have replaced the impeller once and will do it again this year. Although last time after 2.5 years they still looked like new.
