    Why don’t you just rebuild the alternator, maybe $150, and reinstall. I did one of mine and it works perfectly with one year warranty and you don’t have to change anything. New bearings, windings, brushes etc. Guy told me it was still in good shape except the windings must have been shorted or something.Ā

    I would like to voice my opinion which is only as valuable as what you paid for it, nothing. BUT, the reverse responses are a bad idea. It is great for those that visit the site daily but for those that don’t, if we read a new post/thread and there are several responses, we have to scroll to the bottom and read bottom to top for chronological order. Makes it odd and once you have more than one page it is just going to be a PITA. Again, I am assuming your requests to make this happen are from those that visit daily and not once or twice a week. IMO of course.Ā

    I have approx 750 hrs on the pump with no issues. Just want to be proactive in maintenance and not have a surprise leak while in the Bahamas. Do you carry a spare SMX pump onboard with you?
