March 1, 2019 at 12:30 pm Thinking of trying some new ACME props and wondering while Iām at it if I should put prop speed on the running gear. Has anyone had experience with this product?

December 26, 2019 at 6:49 am Is there a 1000 hr service required for a QSB 6.7 480 HP 2013? I can only find a 2000 hr service in the owners manual. Thanks.
1 ReplyDecember 26, 2019 at 9:06 am Focus on the 52,000 plus hours of Marine Age, not the engine runnings hours at this stage. Complete seawater side servicing (not a descaler flush), engine coolant, and exterior appearances (paint touch-ups, corrosion protection, etc) wiring/harness connections point cleaning/lubing…..

October 30, 2019 at 5:52 am How can I reduce the idle speed on a QSB 6.7 (2013) with Glendinning controls? Thanks.
1 ReplyOctober 30, 2019 at 7:29 am That’s a maybe………………… For sure a Cummins tech can come down and reset the idle thru the ECM to 400-500-ish .. There may also be a a provision to add a control with a rocker switch at the helm to toggle it up and down.. But that will take a few hours of research on your particular engine set-up to figure that out.. Cummins may have the option for that on the marine 6.7’s ( they had it for …

QSB6.7 trolling
This topic has 10 replies, has 4 voices, and was last updated by 5 years ago
November 19, 2018 at 8:12 am I have 2013 QSB 6.7’s. I’d like to know if slow trolling in and out of gear is OK. Also, what is involved with installing trolling valves. Thanks.
10 RepliesNovember 26, 2018 at 1:50 pm Sorry for the delay, I was out of town and off the grid for the holiday. The kit doesn’t specifically come with instructions but we can do our best to walk you through it remotely. I would say you need to be reasonably mechanical, not that its exceedingly hard to install a trolling valve, but if you cross thread the sending unit, or strip a bolt that holds the assembly to the gear, or anything like that it could be a costly or at least a t…

Oil from breather

July 9, 2018 at 11:42 am Getting oil out of breather. 6BTA 330. Replaced turbo. Still getting oil. Ran another vent line. No oil. So it looks like the breather tube is plugged somewhere. Any ideas of how to clean the tube? Anything in the crankcase?
1 ReplyJuly 9, 2018 at 11:49 am Here’s two links that are a MUST read with full understanding. And let’s see some pics of your setup including the full install and the current CCV system and your “temporary other vent line” https://www.sbmar.com/articles/crankcase-ventilation/ https://www.sbmar.com/articles/oil-pan-capacities-for-cummins-marine-engines/
