March 2, 2024 at 2:37 pm I installed a pair of 5.9L 6BTA 370’s back in 2019 which now have 520 hours.Ā Both engines seem to run well and do not smoke.Ā The Starboard one fills the Recovery bottle after running up on plane for a few minutes.Ā The engine never gets above 165-170F throughout the throttle range.Ā Quickly cools down to 150ish at 650-850 RPM.Ā But when I let it set it does not suck the coolant back into the expansion tank.Ā I see no milkyness in oil or …

July 3, 2023 at 3:27 pm Hi my 6BTA 370s with about 500 hours on them seem to be running fine – except. The Starboard engine looses sall the water in the expansion tank but the engine never runs hot.Ā The coolant goes to the “puke” tank and fills it up.Ā All the coolant is normally colored.Ā From a previous post I changeed the clear tubing from the expansion tank to the overflow bottle to the recommended blue silicone.Ā No difference.Ā If I add coolant…

June 16, 2023 at 6:40 am I see there are anti-siphon and Check valves. It seems the are different and used for different purposes.
if I have 1/2ā€ fuel lines what size anti-siphon valve should I install so that I donā€™t restrict the flow so much. That is should I install a 5/8ā€ hose segment and use a 5/8ā€ valve.
any particular brand? Do your proactive oil and coolant changes. As to the valves and injectors, unless you have a sign that something is not right: Valves adjusted every 1,500 hours or so and don’t even think about the injectors for 10K hours if your filtration is top notch.
