I had a similar issue with my 6LP in the past when shutting off the key would not stop the engine. I tapped the solenoid when it was still running after shutting off the key and the engine stopped right away. A few times of doing this it proved to me there was something stuck in it.  I cant say I waited as long as 15 min to see if it would shut on its own but think it would have with the vibrations.

Funny thing is I bought a new one to install but the problem walked. Not sure if a bit of dirt moved, etc… it has not happened again.

Thanks for replying Tony and for the update on the right part #s.  I do not think the transmission has the feature but am posting 2 pics below and hoping you can confirm.

If that is the case I guess that connection on the harness is not used ?
