QSM11 Dry Exhaust Slip Joint

2 years ago April 16, 2018 at 8:22 am What seals the slip joint in the QSM11 Dry Exhaust system, it looks like in the Cummins manual on quickserve they show some type of insert/seal, but its no where to be found in the parts diagrams? Is it sealed immediately when the manifold is installed, or does it have to run a few hours and blow a little soot to seal up? Can you use something like Fuchs 762 / Silkalene on the slip joint?

QSM11 Ceramic Coating of Exhaust Manifold

5 years ago April 16, 2018 at 8:16 am On the QSM11 Dry Exhaust manifold, is there any reason not to have the exterior portions of the exhaust manifold and exhaust side of the turbo coated w/ JetHot’s extreme heat 2500 degree ceramic coating to help push that heat on out of the exhaust system into the mixer instead of so much heat staying in the engine compartment?

4 RepliesAugust 15, 2018 at 5:43 am I wonder why this wasn’t thought of initially? Money, perhaps? Ceramic coating exhaust systems is very common in the motorcycle world when trying to manage heat. Especially on air cooled engines like those found in Harley Davidson’s. But ceramic coating is also used in automobile exhausts, too. The thing these two applications have in common with the QSM11 is that they are all dry exhausts. I can’t imagine that ceramic coatin…Last Post by:
