      February 16, 2019 at 6:18 pm Can anyone share an opinion on exactly how far gone these aftercoolers appear to be. The motors are 2002 6bta 370s with 600 hrs each on them in saltwater. They push a 32 topaz owned by an older gentleman who wasnt big on maintenance. To me it looks like they have never been serviced. Maintenance records show just aftercooler zinc replacement. Owner suggested “they dont have enough hours on them” to need aftercoolers clean. I have re…

With that extended period of neglect they may even show signs of failure at the exteriors in the form of heavy corrosion or cracking of the housing, usually at the upper and lower areas where the end surfaces of the housing mate to the caps.
