    Hello,

I was on plane about 20 minutes on the Detroit river with normal pressure reading on transmission gauges ( around 360+/-) and she started to fall of plane- quick check and port was at 235- ish psi, came to idle and went to neutral where gauge stayed at around 235 psi. Shut down and check oil level, good and clean looking oil, restarted and when I shifted in forward the pressure dropped to about 50 psi for a second or so and back up to around 235-45 and went into gear. Same when shifted in reverse. Limped home on starboard and at slip looked for anything unusual -nothing leaking, oil level good and clean looking, about 50 hrs on new filter and oil change with SAE 30. Would appreciate any help in troubleshooting, will be putting a real pressure gauge on sending unit and removing filter and checking element for anything to cause pressure loss tomorrow, does this trans have a filter screen and magnetic plug? If so where would it be located?

could it be the pump?  <br />Thank you in advance for any ideas to diagnose my problem, Todd

Look at the picture.. If I were you I’d be getting a full manual for the gear and learn it as best you can–A very good gear but not made anymore.  When shifting it is 100% normal for OP to drop very  low for a couple of seconds

Loosing pressure on plane needs to sorted out before you ruin the gear.

How close are you to Liberty, Kentucky?
