I’ve seen in various posts that the experts here have recommended testing WOT in neutral at the dock. I want to do this to troubleshoot a low WOT problem, but opening up the throttle in neutral kinda scares me. How long can/should you run WOT in neutral for the test (a few seconds… a minute)? What neutral WOT should I be looking for for 6bta diamond 330s?

Mike’s post is right on. The 330’s should hit 3,100++ no load.

I don’t like to do this either but it needs to be done to check wot no load. Make sure the boat is warm first. Run it under load and get it to operating temp. Once on the dock, bring her up to 3/4 max rpm and let her steady. From there push them on up. It only has to be at max rpm for a few seconds to get a good accurate reading.

Also, before any of this is done you need to be 100% certain your tachis 100% accurate. Photo taching the flywheel and checking vs your tach is a good way to verify.
